This is a super easy way to prepare your wild caught shrimp! It would be great on any of your wild caught seafood!
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp ground mustard
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp. ancho chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 cup bbq sauce
Thaw your shrimp in a bowl in the sink with a thin stream of cold tap water until defrosted, about 10 minutes.
While that is happening, mix together all the dry ingredients to make your rub. Also, start preheating a grill pan or your bbq grill.
When shrimp have thawed, drain the water and pat dry with paper towels. Then, add the rub – I only used about half. You can store the rest of your rub and use it on just about anything. This rub is a great flavor for grass fed beef, chicken, pork and wild caught seafood! You could make it in bulk just to always have on hand. Also, by making your own rub you can control the sodium and the flavor. If you want it spicy – add red pepper flakes or cayenne. If you want it more southwest – add some cumin and coriander.
Now, add the juice of half the lemon and the bbq sauce and give it a stir to coat.
They are ready for the grill. They will only take a minute and a half to two minutes per side so don’t walk away!
After about a minute and a half, give them a flip.
That’s it! You are ready to serve and enjoy! Wasn’t that easy? I served mine with a simple salad of broccoli, celery, red onion and bacon.
